Isolation vs Solitude

Is there a significant difference? I believe so. The way I see it, isolation is about being disconnected from others and yourself. Solitude on the other hand, is about connecting with one's self or others while being alone. It might be easier to understand this concept when thinking about a time you were in a crowded space, but felt all alone and disconnected. Isolation brings about despair and mental anguish. It is used to break down people who are held captive, and leads to mental health problems regardless of being self-imposed isolation for imposed by others. Solitude, however, is an ancient spiritual practice performed by monks and the like the world over throughout time. It is not however, merely being alone. It is a means of connecting deeply with one's self without distractions, or to connect to others or a Higher Power through prayer, meditation, wishes, blessings, good vibrations, and the sort. It is often common among introverts as a means of recharging one's emotional reservoirs, and should not be underestimated. If you notice yourself start to isolate, be sure to take action by reaching out to others or shaking for help. Likewise, make sure you are taking time for yourself to be in solitude, so that you may connect more deeply with the significant things in life.

Below is a video explaining the negative impacts of isolation. Give it a watch and see which effects you have personally experienced before, and which one's you were fortunate enough to not experience.  Please comment down in the arrow.
